During the pandemic, the city of Half Moon Bay created a Public notice for residents encouraging them to place a blue ribbon on their doors to indicate solidarity with front line workers.. PCT made that notice into a video for use on our channels to inform the public.
COVID has no doubt affected many people here in San Mateo county as it has throughout the world. One of the major impacts that has gone mostly underreported is the isolation and social impact.
For this reason, PCT has undertaken a project called "COVID CHRONICLES" where we interview people in our county to determine how they are coping. The school pronciple interviewd here is the wife of one of our PCT members. She agreed to give us a peek into life at her school, post-COVID.
Since originally produced, this series has won a WAVE award for video excellence. For more COVID resources go to: http://pacificcoast.tv/resources
The above video is an example of PCT Public Service videos during the height of the pandemic.
While there are currently NO beach closures, should case loads necessitate, PCT will continue to bring all news and information necessary for Public Safety.
We need yourimmediate helpto ensure that AB2635, the bill that would require High Definition PEG channels, passes through the CA Assembly and onto the Senate.
While we were successful getting the bill through two Assembly committees, when it went to the floor on May 2nd it failed to get enough votes and was pulled for reconsideration. Only 18 members voted yes, 18 voted no, and 41 members DID NOT VOTE. Why? Because the cable industry is feeding them lies.
The cable industry says that having PEG channels in HD would cause cable rates to go up because new fiber lines would need to be built statewide, HD transmission equipment would cost large amounts of money, and there would be a monthly cost to transmit HD signals. This is all outrageous, but the cable industry is going to get away with it unless we act NOW!
3.Send this letter of support to your Assembly Member and the persons listed at the top of the letter. Encourage other elected officials or government officials to send the letter also.
Spend your evening listening to music from Judith Hill. She's performed with legends like Michael Jackson. This event will benefit Caminar's Behavioral Health Equity Fund. Caminar's Behavior Health Equity Fund was created to respond to the urgent behavioral health needs of the Bay Area's undeserved populations.
Last Wednesday night there was a fire at the Pacifica Resource Center that left the back of the Palmetto Ave. building burned. No civilians and firefighters were injured.

You've been skateboarding on your sidewalk, parking lots, and school yards, but now it's time for HMB Skatepark. Going to a skatepark for the first time can be scary and intimidating, but practicing basic skating skills beforehand can help to build confidence before you tackle skatepark equipment. Learning proper park etiquette, how to skate around others to avoid causing accidents, and being sure to practice safety while skating will make sure you have a great experience when you take the trip to HMB Skatepark.
After a flurry of AAPI (Asian American Pacific islanders) hate-related attacks on a national level in early 2021 Pacifica organizers decided to take action locally.
While there were no recorded attacks in Pacifica, organizers wanted to be certain that our AAPI community felt safe and included in our local family. Further, they wanted to educate our community on the issues related to hate to ensure it doesn't happen here and provide resources for whoever may need them.
Last month PCT covered the Stop AAPI Hate March in Pacifica. PCT interviewed organizer Mary Bier & attendees.
San Mateo County’s Recovery Initiative is a collaboration among local government agencies, community-based organizations and nonprofits, private partners, and residents to promote inclusive recovery and leverage the collective capacity of the whole community to build a more equitable, healthy, and connected San Mateo County.
Robby Bancroft is a promoter, restaurateur, and all-around good guy in Pacifica. Many folks know Robby as a board member and supporter of the PRC, Pacifica Resource Center, which has done so much for coast-side families, particularly since the pandemic.
Robby is also known as a backbone of support for his dad's eatery, Breakers, which serves delicious food fare in the Rockaway Beach neighborhood and has been a godsend for folks looking for a great breakfast without wanting to go over the hill.
But did you know Robby has his own TV show?? Well, he does now! A marketer and promoter for some time, Robby has, from time to time linked up with PCT. Since the pandemic, however, this has been difficult. Well, not anymore!
The realities of pandemic life have forced PCT to come up with some new methods of support for our members. Previously, we'd bring most folks in the studio for most shows. Now we have a brand new method that allows YOU to stay home yet get STUDIO QUALITY results. It actually involves having a PCT staffer as your personal "video engineer", to actually walk you through your TV show/Podcast.
As one of our early adopters, Robby has already been putting this method to good use. In the episode here, Robby welcomes his long-time friend and personal trainer Louis Armstrong (Cool name, huh?) to his show as they talk about getting and staying fit during the pandemic.
Check the PCT schedule for future episodes of Robby's World. Meanwhile, enjoy!
