Pacifica City Council Candidate Forum 8.20.22

On August 20th the Pacifica Democrats and Pacific Coast TV sponsored the Pacifica City Council Candidate's forum.

The Pacifica Democrats has partnered with PCT locally to host candidate forums and educate local residents.

Every election season, organizations across the county hold hundreds of candidate debates and forums to help voters learn about the candidates on their ballot. Watching a candidate forum is one of the best ways to prepare for casting your ballot. As a core feature of U.S. politics, candidate debates help citizens learn about candidates and issues.

Please check out the above candidate forum and don't forget to cast your ballot on November 8th.

Stay tuned to this site for more local forums and debates.

Pacifica Pier Closing

13761607886?profile=original

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER DATED

DATED JANUARY 4rh 2024 (Pacifica, CA) –

The Pacifica Pier will be closed for 3 weeks from
January 5th, 2024, to January 26th, 2024.

On December 28, 2023, a combination of high tides and large waves damaged sections of
the Pacifica Municipal Pier’s west-facing deck and concrete railing. The City’s Public Works
Engineering Division and a structural engineering consultant assessed the damage and
determined the Pier is unsafe for users and visitors until a structural assessment can be
performed.

An expedited structural assessment of the Pier, development of the analysis, staff review, and
finalization of the assessment is expected to be completed by January 25, 2024. Following the
assessment, the City will determine if the Pier can be reopened.

Should you have any questions or concerns, you can contact the Department of Public Works
Engineering Division at (650) 738-3767 or email engineering@pacifica.gov. Thank you for your
cooperation, and your patience while the City works diligently to ensure the Pier is safe and
can continue to be an important public amenity.

For updates on the Pacifica Pier, please visit: www.cityofpacifica.org/pier.
