This project is guided by a committee of county, state, federal and tribal representatives which will explore the best ways to design and interpret the path that Gaspar de Portolà took during his expedition of the San Mateo County coast and the San Francisco Bay. This work will include telling the history of the Ohlone people who lived in the area and who were instrumental in supporting the Portolá Expedition in 1769.
On the third Saturday in September California cleans up! California Coastal Cleanup Day welcomes more than 60,000 volunteers who will pick up hundreds of thousands of pounds of trash and recyclables from beaches, lakes, and waterways each year. It brings awareness to the marine litter problem and provides a community event for direct involvement.

Stopped by the studio today for a low key tour. Friendly staff member Jason greeted me with a cup of coffee and walked me through the facility. Then we went over some courses they offer here at the station.
Clean studio with enthusiastic and helpful team. If you want to get started with digital media or refine your skills, this is the place. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Technical Director workshop at 6pm on October 4th.

Just moved to Pacifica from my hometown Monterey, and I've been poking around online to pick up on some of the local culture. Turns out, foggy towns foster some serious love for vintage machinery!
At first I thought I was stumbling across another classic car show, but labeling the Pacific Coast Dream Machines a "car show" is a massive undersell. This collection of badass tinkerers and their souped up contraptions makes the Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours pale in comparison.
Really unbelievable stuff, definitely a must for anyone who geeks out over planes, trains, and automobiles. Throw in the live jazz, and I'm not sure why you'd miss it. Can't wait to check it out next April!
Fog Fest 2018 in Pacifica, CA. A fun event for family and friends.
The Norcal Dog Surfing event & World Championships for Dog Surfing take place on the Northern California coast -- where the concept for the sport originated -- bringing together dog surfing talent.
Get ready for a world of wonder at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show, a uniquely spectacular showcase of motorized mechanical marvels from throughout the 20th and 21st centuries at Half Moon Bay Airport.
PCT staff were on the scene, interviewing innovators and engineers about the crazy, creative projects that they assembled for the event. Remodeled planes, modded cars, and all manner of contraptions were on display for the coast side to see!
Construction is complete, the shelves are filled with a brand new collection of books and a ribbon is waiting to be cut for the grand opening of Half Moon Bay’s new, high-tech library. As it finally opens, a host of festivities await the new building: Rep Jackie Spier was in attendance, celebrating alongside the excited Half Moon Bay community.
Welcome to the new library!
Pct was a big winner at the 2018 WAVE awards.
Actually, to be more specific, Brianna Yee-Sandoval was the big winner. Truth is, the station has accumulated many WAVES over the years and really did not submit for many this year. Two we did submit for were for work done by Brianna on our COAST-LIFE show.
And guess what? Yes, she won both. Brianna is one of several up-and-coming talents to watch here at PCT. After a stellar internship in the spring of 2017 we actually hired Bri and now she serves as our primary Half Moon Bay staffer as well as recording meetings and working on our coast life show, bringing news and information about the coastside to coastal residents.
Congrats on your big wins Bri! Looking for more amazing things coming from her. If you wish to get involved, become a member. We'd love to see what you have to offer.
