Visit HMB Skatepark!

LOCATION: HMB Skatepark is located adjacent to the Ted Adcock Community Center at 535 Kelly Ave, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

You've been skateboarding on your sidewalk, parking lots, and school yards, but now it's time for HMB Skatepark. Going to a skatepark for the first time can be scary and intimidating, but practicing basic skating skills beforehand can help to build confidence before you tackle skatepark equipment. Learning proper park etiquette, how to skate around others to avoid causing accidents, and being sure to practice safety while skating will make sure you have a great experience when you take the trip to HMB Skatepark.

After a flurry of AAPI (Asian American Pacific islanders) hate-related attacks on a national level in early 2021 Pacifica organizers decided to take action locally.

While there were no recorded attacks in Pacifica, organizers wanted to be certain that our AAPI community felt safe and included in our local family. Further, they wanted to educate our community on the issues related to hate to ensure it doesn't happen here and provide resources for whoever may need them.

Last month PCT covered the Stop AAPI Hate March in Pacifica. PCT interviewed organizer Mary Bier & attendees.

SMC Recovery Initiative

SANCHEZ REOPENING!

The Sanchez Art Center has reopened their galleries in compliance with the State of California and San Mateo. Regular drop-in gallery hours Fri-Sat-Sun, 1-5pm; a wait outside may be required based on the number of people already visiting. Book online (http://sanchezartcenter.10to8.com) to visit Tue-Wed-Thur, 11am-7pm. A great opportunity for social bubbles/small groups & families (from 1-8 people for physical distancing).

BEACH PARKING LOT CLOSURES

 

Following Governor Newsom’s closure of parking lots at State of California beaches and parks, many San Mateo county beaches have closed their parking lots. Social / physical distancing is necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Recently coastal beaches saw an influx of visitors creating an environment not conducive to virus mitigation. Everyone should stay close to home and avoid any crowded areas. Watch the video above to learn what beaches in San Mateo County have closed their parking lots.
