Books, puzzles and games, oh my!  The Half Moon Bay Public Library is hosting a series of monthly book charity drives at the Half Moon Bay Library at 620 Correas Street.  Books for all ages are sold.  September 19, October 24 and December 5.

Founded in 1922, Friends of the Library is a volunteer group that helps public and academic libraries.  One of the many events they host is a Monthly Book Sale; they give away, sell and take book donations to help support local public libraries.

Friends of the library functions and operates as a nonprofit charity raising money for the Youth and Adult Meals Program providing 60 meals a day to the underpriveledged in the community.  Friends of the Library also works with the Community School Backpack Drive by donating children’s books and offering financial support.

Available at the sale are fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, gardening and crafting books are especially welcome.  Also available are young adult books, children’s and kids’ books and jigsaw puzzles in good condition.

While many municipalities host this event, the newly renovated Half Moon Bay Public library at 620 Correas Street was awarded Library of the Year in 2019 by the American Institute of Architecture and provides a safe and beautiful space for this monthly event on the Coastside.
