BECA to Host First Annual Alumni vs. Student Kickball Game

SAN FRANCISCO — The Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) program will host its first annual kickball game on Saturday, April 18, bringing together alumni and current students for a community-centered event at San Francisco State University.

The game, scheduled to take place at the Mashouf Open Area (701 Font Blvd), will feature a matchup between BECA alumni and current students. The event will also be streamed live beginning at 12:30 p.m., allowing broader access for those unable to attend in person.

Organizers say the event is designed to strengthen connections between graduates and current students while fostering a sense of continuity within the BECA program. By creating a space for interaction outside of the classroom, the game aims to highlight the program’s growing network and community engagement.

The alumni vs. students format introduces a competitive element, with alumni bringing experience from professional and academic paths, while students contribute current skills and energy developed within the program.

The event marks what organizers hope will become an annual tradition, providing opportunities for mentorship, networking, and community-building through informal, accessible programming.

Attendance is open to students, alumni, and members of the campus community.
