2026 World Dog Surfing Championships!

Get ready for one of Pacifica's most beloved summer traditions as the 2026 World Dog Surfing Championships return to Linda Mar Beach on Saturday, August 1 from 9am - 1:30pm, bringing together talented canine surfers from around the world for a day of fun, competition, and community.

From seasoned surf dogs to first-time wave riders, spectators will have the chance to watch four-legged athletes compete in a variety of surfing heats based on size, along with exciting tandem dog-and-human competitions. Whether you're a dog lover, beach enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique family outing, this event offers something for everyone. 

Beyond the surf competition, visitors can explore the Surf Dog Village, featuring local vendors, sponsor booths, pet-related activities, and a Pet Wellness Fair offering health and fitness resources for dogs. Families can also enjoy the popular Dog Beach Fashion Contest, meet adoptable pets through local rescue organizations, and learn about organizations dedicated to animal welfare and environmental conservation. 

The event is free to attend and runs from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m., making it the perfect way to spend a summer day on the coast. Since its beginnings in Pacifica, the World Dog Surfing Championships have become an internationally recognized event, drawing competitors and spectators from across the globe while celebrating the unique bond between people, their dogs, and the ocean.
