October 2026 is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

By Derek Hamill

The City of Pacifica emphasized that combating domestic violence demands a comprehensive, countywide approach—spanning prevention, emergency crisis intervention, safe housing, legal advocacy, and mental health resources.

Over the past five decades, CORA has delivered essential aid through safehouses, therapy sessions, and legal assistance. Alongside direct support services, the non-profit actively focuses on community-wide prevention. CORA's educational outreach reaches more than 6,000 middle and high school students annually with lessons on healthy relationships, while connecting with over 3,000 adults through training programs, presentations, and community events.

If you or someone you know is experiencing intimate partner violence, CORA’s confidential 24-hour hotline is available at 800-300-1080 for immediate support.
