New Fire Chief: Nick Garcia

New Fire Chief: Nick Garcia

Pacifica Welcomes New Fire Chief: Nick Garcia

by Malia Pargas

Through an extensive nationwide recruitment that began several months ago with an expert recruiting firm, On Fire Chiefs, 30 qualified candidates from across the country were screened and interviewed. It's been a long time since we've had a new fire chief; this is a big transition time. Chief Garcia has committed 20 years of dedication, leadership, and service to both Daly City and the greater San Mateo County. Daly City Firefighters and all L2400 members are extremely grateful for Chief Garcia and all that he has accomplished.

He's been involved in labor and community and continues to get involved in the process because this profession is really important to him. "It's something that I have a deep caring for". With the Bay Area coastline being what it is, he knows how to best handle any situation he is faced with.

Chief Garcia is all about connecting and making sure people know he is there for us. Making sure our community gets information fast and clearly. He wants to prove himself as a leader, not just by his badge but by his work ethic. With hopes that we continue to have him for a long time, protecting this side of the bay. Are extremely excited to see him take this department in the right direction
