Driving down Highway 1, I came across a nice little bar right near the ocean. It's called "A Grape in the Fog," and is relatively new to the area. I spoke with the owner, Beth Lamke, about what it is and what happens there. I was actually pleasantly surprised that such a small place in the middle of a small town can host so many events and attract so many people. I went there on a few occasions to catch the different events as they happened.

I went there on a Monday night, when there was a Quiz Night, and I got to compete in a trivia contest, which I promptly lost. I came back on a Thursday to watch some local musicians play and enjoy some fine wine and chocolate cake. They have a big television there for watching Giants baseball games, as well. The wine selection is pretty large, not to mention Friday features wine tasting for low prices.

A Grape in the Fog ha great prices, and parking is not a problem, as there is public parking to the left and right of it, and it's a very close walk to the ocean. It left a very good impression on me, and for those who enjoy a small but friendly atmosphere for wining and dining, listening to local music or watching the game with some friends. It's also a great place for anniversaries, romantic dates, get-togethers, and meeting new people. I definitely recommend this bar for you.
